I leave tomorrow morning. My very dear friend Michelle has been such a help getting ready for this adventure. She just told me she'd made me a bon voyage gift. Before I could protest that I couldn't carry the burden of even one more object, she allowed as how it didn't weigh anything. Here it is:

The preparations all are done.

You start your big adventure now,

What many men would fear to do,

A gamble--yet I notice how

You cannot lose this game; you’ll learn

And make friends, what may go awry--

And what a joy to cheer along

And watch you flap your ears and fly.
